San Benito Phenomena of the 70's

In the early 70's one of the things that was affecting the community of the small town of San benito where the sightings of a strange creature. This abnormal creature was described by the citizens of the town as "a strange large bird with red blood eyes." As I was reading through the online report, i came across one of the witnesses who bore my last name, which is very interesting because my father has told me that much of our family has at one point lived here in San Benito. ANYWAY, the rumor of this abnormal bird's excistence eventually led to the press offering a large sum of money for its capture, and its it's sightings continued the rumor made it to the famous "Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show."
